Can I really help?
Can my contribution really make a difference?
Is there hope for transformation?

By contributing to JDA, you are sharing in the work of bringing hope to the people of Central Asia . You are partnering with our national staff as they continue to bring transformational development for equipping individuals, families and communities to meet the challenges of their future.

Support JDA's Humanitarian Aid and Relief Projects

Individuals, families, and communities of countries that are in transition often need relief and humanitarian aid before rehabilitation and development projects can take place. There are also certain "at risk" segments of the population: the invalid, the blind, the orphaned, the widowed, the homeless and those displaced due to war or conflict, that need a help to get a new start in life.

You can become involved in the lives of these "at risk" people by donating to one of the below humanitarian aid projects that JDA would like to implement.

Help for the Blind - $40

There are more than 4,500 blind people (1,100 are children) in Karakalpakstan. JDA has been running community health education projects with some of these people. There is a great need for dark glasses to protect their eyes and walking sticks. In addition, they need special paper for Braille typing as their desire to read and write is great. When they had paper they listened to tapes and typed their own books. Many are learning how to read English Braille books.

For a gift of $40 you can help a blind person to have dark glasses, a walking stick and paper.

Latrine Project for the Blind - $500

There are 40 blind families (more than 100 people) living in a four floor apartment building without sanitary facilities. Each family has constructed their own small latrine as shown on the left. The building in the background is a brand new college built by the government, those people at risk have little support or are neglected entirely.

For a gift of $500 (total $5000) you can be one of the 10 donors that we need to support the building of a new latrine.

  School Chalk - $50

School chalk is an essential item for education. Children are required to bring chalk for their teachers. Each month 25 kgs is consumed.Currently none is produced in Uzbekistan or Afghanistan. JDA has found a natural deposit of chalk on the bottom of the Aral Sea. This resource is now being used to manufacture school chalk using simple appropriate technology developed by our national staff.

For a gift of $50, you can help provide chalk for an entire school for one month.
